The MatCH Research DIFFER project (Diagonal Interventions to Fast Forward Enhanced Reproductive Health) team joined a social evening in March during a site visit of collaborators “Ashodaya Samithi” from the India project site.  Ashodaya Samithi is a sex worker organisation with a membership of over 8,000 female, male and transgender sex workers, working across six districts of Karnataka, India. The Ashodaya team were conducting a training needs assessment in consultation with female sex workers whilst visiting sex worker projects and sites in and around Durban. Subsequent training visits have been planned and will focus on building capacity, knowledge, skills and capabilities of Female Sex Worker (FSW) community members and staff of organisations providing community-based FSW services to enhance community empowerment as a means for improved SRH services in targeted interventions. The dinner was attended by local DIFFER project collaborators Lifeline and Sisonke.
