On Friday the 24th February Wits held a Research Dissemination day. Prior to this year our last dissemination was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions. The dissemination was hosted in a local venue in Durban near to the Wits MRU offices and there was an option to attend virtually. The meeting was attended by the Department of Health at provincial level and clinic staff; local research organisations including the MRC, HSRC, CAPRISA, EpiCentre and the Clinical HIV Research Unit (CHRU); NGOs; educational institutions and other key stakeholders including UNFPA. The dissemination was also attended by our adult and adolescent Community Advisory boards (CAB/ACAB) who gave their input and experience on their role as CAB members at Wits MRU.
Research results were presented from the last 2 years as well as current project overviews. The day was also a celebration to mark the renaming of MRU to WitsMRU.
